Privacy Policy
Editorial Department Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") hereby establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of privacy information in the services (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") provided on this website.
Article 1 (Personal Information)
For the purpose of this privacy policy, "Personal Information" shall mean information related to a living individual which can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, in accordance with the definition of "Personal Information" under the Personal Information Protection Law.
"History and characteristic information" within the privacy information refers to information other than "Personal Information" defined above, and includes services used, products purchased, pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords entered by the user, date and time of use, method of use, user environment, postal code, gender, occupation, age, the user's IP address, cookie information, location information, and the individual identification information of the device.
Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)
The company may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number when a user registers for the service. In addition, the company may collect records of transactions containing personal information made between the user and partners, as well as information related to payment, from its partners (including information providers, advertisers, ad delivery destinations, etc., hereinafter referred to as "partners").
The company collects history information and characteristic information about the user such as services and software used, products purchased, pages and advertisements viewed, search keywords entered, date and time of use, method of use, and the usage environment (including the communication status of the mobile terminal used and various settings information at the time of use), IP address, cookie information, location information, and the individual identification information of the device when the user utilizes the services or views pages provided by the company and its partners.
Article 3 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)
The purposes for which the company collects and uses personal information are as follows
(1) The purpose is to allow users to view and edit their registration information and to view their usage status. For this reason, the company displays information related to the user's name, address, contact details, payment method, services used, products purchased, and their costs.
(2) The purpose is to use email addresses to send notices and communications to users or to use contact information such as names and addresses for sending products to users or making necessary contact with them.
(3) The purpose is to use information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, and the delivery results of certified mail to verify the identity of users.
(4) The purpose is to use information such as the names and quantities of purchased products, types and durations of services used, frequency of use, billing amounts, names, addresses, bank account numbers, and credit card numbers for the purpose.
(5) The purpose is to facilitate users' data entry by displaying information registered with the company on the input screen or transferring it to other services (including those provided by partners) based on the user's instructions.
(6) The purpose of using the information is to refuse the service to users who violate the service terms by delaying payment or causing damage to third parties, as well as to those who intend to use the service for fraudulent or improper purposes. This includes using information such as the manner of usage, and personal identifiers like names and addresses.
(7) The purpose of using the information is to respond to inquiries from users, which involves using details of the inquiries, information related to billing, and any other information necessary to provide services to users, as well as information about the user's service usage and contact details.
(8) The purpose is for objectives incidental to the above-mentioned uses.
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's consent in advance, except in the cases listed below. However, this excludes cases permitted under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.
(1) In cases based on laws and regulations.
(2) When it is necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the person.
(3) When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person.
(4) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national institution or local public body, or an entity entrusted by them, in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the person's consent could impede the execution of those affairs.
(5) When the following matters have been announced or made public in advance:
・That the provision to third parties is included in the purposes of use.
・The items of data provided to third parties.
・The means or method of provision to third parties.
・That the provision of personal information to third parties will be ceased upon the request of the individual.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not be considered as provision to a third party.
(1) When the company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
(2) When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to merger or other reasons.
(3) When personal information is used jointly with specific parties, and the fact of such joint use, the items of personal information to be used jointly, the scope of the parties using it jointly, the purpose of use by those parties, and the name or designation of the person responsible for the management of the said personal information have been notified to the individual in advance, or when the individual is in a state where they can easily acquire such knowledge.
Article 5 (Disclosure of Personal Information)
The company will disclose personal information without delay when requested by the individual. However, if disclosing such information falls under any of the following cases, the company may choose not to disclose all or part of it, and if the decision not to disclose is made, the company will notify the individual of this decision without delay. Additionally, a fee of 1,000 yen per case will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
(1)When there is a possibility that disclosure could harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the person or a third party.
(2)When there is a possibility that disclosure would cause significant impediment to the proper conduct of the company's business.
(3) When disclosure would result in a violation of laws and regulations.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the previous paragraph, information other than personal information, such as historical and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.
Article 6 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
Users have the right to request the correction or deletion of their personal information held by the company if they believe that such information is incorrect. This request must be made according to the procedures established by the company.
The company, upon receiving a request from a user as mentioned in the previous section and determining that there is a need to comply with the request, will correct or delete the relevant personal information without delay and notify the user of this action.
Article 7 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)
The company, when requested by the individual, will promptly conduct the necessary investigation if the personal information is being used beyond the scope of the stated purposes of use or has been acquired by wrongful means. Based on the results of the investigation, the company will stop the use of or delete the personal information (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use, etc.") and will notify the individual of such action. However, if the suspension of use, etc. involves a significant cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, and if alternative measures can be taken to protect the individual's rights and interests, the company will implement such alternative measures instead.
Article 8 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)
The content of this policy may be changed without notice to the user.
Except as otherwise provided by the company, the amended privacy policy will come into effect from the time it is posted on this website.
